Job Description - The Driver's Role and Responsibilities
Our drivers are compassionate, caring, reliable and responsible individuals charged with getting clients with mobility challenges to their destinations safely and on time. A successful candidate for this position will be a great communicator, enthusiastic about the opportunity, and have experience in customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care
- Must demonstrate a compassionate attitude towards all customers and family members
- Communicate proficiently and effectively with hospital staff and co-workers
- Responsible for cleaning and operating ambulette equipment
- Present themselves in a professional, courteous, and punctual way
- Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle
- Report back to the supervisor when clients have been dropped off at their destination
- Report traffic delays, incidents, or accidents to the supervisor
- Operate wheelchair lifts as needed
- Adhere to company policies and protocol
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Must have current driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must maintanin current licensure in CPR and First Aid
- Must be at least 23 years of age to drive
- Must have a clean driving record with no points
- Must be able to think "out of the box" and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Must have a great work history with a track record of being a reliable responsible individual
- Must provide references from previous employers
Preferred Skills:
- Know how to keep a level head in a busy environment
- Must be passionate about helping people
- Great communication skills
- A good working knowledge of the tri-county area is a plus
